2) the key is not thinking long-term. you may have noticed the loaf of banana bread I've been storing in my belly for the last two months or so. Perhaps it has been baking or growing. Regardless, I told myself a couple weeks back that I would run and bike ride and work out with the goal of having it gone by Thanksgiving. as long as I stick to the task and don't procrastinate, it's a lot more reasonable of a goal than wanting it tomorrow. and, thinking in terms of weight loss, i've heard some tips that have been helping me out lately. besides the obvious, "don't eat fast food six times a day," try to space out your meals and have a big breakfast, medium-sized lunch and smaller dinner. what this does is give you more fuel for your day, and less fuel for sitting on the couch and sleeping. also, when you work out and do cardio, always try to go longer than 45 minutes. when you go for under 40-45, you are burning carbohydrates and water (or something like that), and only really losing the energy your body allocates to muscle building and exertion. after you cross the 45 minutes barrier, you start burning fat like it's nobody's business. if you are thinking right now, "Nicholas, you are a twig with a beer gut," keep in mind that: 1) it sure could be bigger and 2) i was a jock in high school and worked out 5-6 times a week, and had gross muscles and bench pressed elephants worth of steel plates.
d) another thing is make it a personal goal. i know this sounds stupid, as if to say, "Well, of course it's personal, it's my body," but the fact remains that the more outspoken you are about it, the more pressure you put on yourself. the more you rely on someone else, or other people, the less beautiful you can be, and as a very nice person, it sure seems you can have that beauty on your own.
elgin baylor) i know you don't know me so well, and may not even like me so much, but i just wanted to encourage you to achieve your goals, and to keep it up for the right reason.
yep. if you can cut something like 500 calories off of your diet, you'll be okay as well. but this doesnt mean to not eat. eat from that pyramid that everyone has once talked about.
whats sad is that the girls that dont need to worry about looking good, worry. and the ones that need to worry about looking good, dont.
