Long way from home

May 04, 2010 06:40

Well my fellow LJers it's been a while since I posted so I guess I have a lot to catch you up on.

I'm out in Iraq now. I'll be here until late in July. It's an interesting place. I'm not in any danger so don't go worrying about me. They treat me really well and keep me safe. I'm of course working on computers here. I'm going to try and post a little more while I'm out here but the internet connection seems to be a little spotty and I am allocated an amount I can use every day.

I work the night shift so I go in at 10 PM which would be around 3:00 in the afternoon back home. Speaking of back home I miss my girls dearly! I count the days until I can hold them in my arms again.

It's kind of lonely out here, especially for me. With the shift I work I don't really see any people. I get a truck to drive while I'm out here but there are 3 people who use it. I don't ever see them, they are just required to have it there for me when I need it.

I'm taking pictures when and where I can but as you can imagine most of the time cameras are strictly forbidden.

All the outlets here are 220 volt so I have to be very careful about what I plug in. I have an inverter but it's only 300 watt.. I have to limit what I put in there.

Please if you know them and get the chance drop by my house and check on Sara and Eva, they are having a much more difficult time with my being gone than I am.
