friday night was awesome. i went to charlie's house, and we hung out for a bit. then, charlie called jamie's house and found out they were already on their way, so we hid in the back of the van and jumped out, screaming, when jamie and rachel were getting out of the car they came in. good times. tannon arrived a few minutes later, and we watched shaun of the dead. awesome movie. about half way through the movie, robert came. after shaun of the dead, we waaaaaaaatched alien vs predator, which was highly overrated. but i had more fun watching it than i did watching shaun of the dead. mostly cuz i was trying to get this little bell thing away from jamie. after the movies were over, charlie, robert, tannon and rachel played poker. jamie and i stayed in the livingroom and talked. everyone was gone by about midnight. charlie and i didn't stay up much later. the next day! umm, we were lazy. got up around 11 or 12 and did a lot of nothing. we watched shaun of the dead again, and played grand theft auto for a while. eventually we got ready for the dance. i actually tucked my shirt in and buttoned it all the way, which is weird for me. i wore a tie, too, but that's not quite as odd for me. around 6:30ish, we left for the dance. an awesome michael jackson song came on the radio while charlie's mom drove us over. can't remember what it was though. so, we got there, and our friends are waiting outside. amanda, the girl i was going to the dance with, had a flower thingy that i was supposed to wear, because her mom wanted us to match. no one could figure out how to pin it on, though. so i had it tucked away in my shirt pocket. getting into the dance was a lot less tricky than i thought it was gonna be. charlie had gotten me a guest pass thing, 'cause i don't go to his school, but apparently i was supposed to have the principal of my school get it signed, as well as the principal of charlie's school. screw that. nowhere on the paper did it have a space for my principal to sign it. last year at homecoming his school had lost my guest pass, but i still got in. this year was easier even though i didn't have a guest pass at all. amanda and i went in the door after charlie and his girlfriend, and the guy at the door informed us that we were gonna be checked because we didn't have the reciepts on our tickets. they asked amanda if she had her i.d. but she didn't have it. charlie looked over and told the guy at the table that he could vouch for us, and we were let in. i am still grateful they didn't ask me for my i.d. because the whole guest pass thing would have been brought up and no good would have come from it. the dance started out pretty slow. not many people were actually dancing. it started up more, eventually. i'm not much of a dancer, but i try. it amuses people. jamie doesn't even dance at all. she was just standing there. during the night, she kept escaping to somewhere she could just watch other people dance instead of joining in herself. first slowdance, i danced with amanda. most the rest of the night consisted of me dancing a little, and every once in a while, attempting to get jamie on the dance floor. second slow dance i missed because she refused to get up from the table. i finally got her on the third slow dance. afterwards, we sat down. we talked, bugged people, and avoided getting back on the dance floor. we did get up for pictures though. 10 bucks for a thing of pictures. i picked one of the poses from their little chart dealy and commented to the photographer that it looked simple. big mistake. the photographer said if we wanted simple, that we should go with this other one, which turned out to be more complicated then the one i chose. then, they barely gave us any time before taking the picture. i couldn't do the cheesy picture smile and looked like i was in being dragged into it or something. last year was much better. i was laughing, which made it so much easier to smile, and the photographer then was a lot more aggreable. i cringe, just thinking about how those pictures are gonna turn out. jamie and i went back to our spot, watching other people dance. she left for a minute to go talk to someone, so i took her spot on the bench thing, but then these other people start crowding in on the bench and lose the spot i had earlier. jamie comes back and seeing how little room there is, makes me stand up while she gets situated, then she pulls me down and gets cuddly. i'm sitting there, leaning back against her, and she has her arms around me an' her head on my shoulder. that was probably the best part of the night. we missed another slowdance, but i didn't really care at that point. soon, the last dance came, and i got jamie up off the bench because i am weird and felt compelled not to miss the last dance. she was a lot more compliant than the first time. right after the song ends, all the lights come on, and everyone makes that sound that people tend to make when bright lights come on after having been adjusted to being in the dark for so long. we all said our goodbyes and left. charlie's mom was nice enough to give me a ride home, given how late it was. 11, 12 maybe. i think i left my jacket back at charlie's house. i'll get it back eventually. i also forgot to bet my studs back from jamie. i know, these are probably the kinds of entries that people find boring to read, but i am simply writing this to remember how it went. good morning to you all. i am going to church now.
