Waaaaay back when, in the dark ages of Facebook, there was this popular thing to write a note detailing 25 things about yourself that others may not know. I decided to reprise that note here on LJ, for lack of a better post. That, and knitting and wedding planning are currently taking up most of my brain cells. Oh, and the job hunt, too. :) It's pretty funny to re-read some of these and think about how different life is a year and a half later. Enjoy!
[eins.] My faith in Christ Jesus is the most important thing in my life. I daily rejoice in the forgiveness of sins, life and salvation poured over me in baptism, and am so thankful that my parents raised me in the Lutheran faith.
[zwei.] I've been composing this list in my head for about a week now.
[drei.] Contrary to popular opinion, I am neither a music major, nor an education major. I am a history major, with minors in theology and political science.
[vier.] That said, I don't know what I want to do/be when I grow up. Some days I'm O.K. with that, some days not.
[fünf.] I am an all grown up Library Child. And I love it. I can do a little bit of everything... and get away with it. Except not really. But kind of. However, I am extremely thankful for my job and everything I've learned there over the past... 6 summers. Time flies when you're having fun. :-)
[sechs.] MARC does and always will hold a special place in my heart. Dewey makes me shudder and feel ill. I abhor the evil it embodies. ;-)
[sieben.] National Parks are wonderful places. Everyone should visit them. One of my life goals is to visit all the NPS parks/sites/monuments.
[acht.] Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site is where I fell in love with the Grants, knitting, Bridget Jones, and history as a profession.
[neun.] It's not summer vacation without my family's annual trip Up North.
[zehn.] Nancy Drew was my hero. She still is, to some extent.
[elf.] One of my favorite childhood memories is launching parachute army men off the library balcony with my brother.
[zwölf.] I grew up reading Boxcar Children, Little House on the Prairie, Dear America, the Magic Attic Club, and Nancy Drew.
[dreizehn.] It has been decided that my natural state is frazzled. Unfortunately, I am inclined to agree most days. On the bright side, it makes me think of Ms. Frizzle and the Magic School Bus...
[vierzehn.] I've gone to Lutheran schools since preschool. That was one of the reasons I decided to come to Concordia, however "Lutheran" it may be.
[fünfzehn.] I have gone to school since the first grade with Ben Parviz. I am quite proud of this trivial fact, even though neither of us really had anything to do with it. And yes, we briefly discussed going to the same grad school, just to keep up the tradition.
[sechzehn.] My three years of high school German were some of the best memories from those four years. I still try to use some of my German, but I've lost most of it by now. I'm planning on picking it back up once I'm finally done with school and can devote more time to it.
[siebzehn.] Over the past few years, I have become nearly obsessed with knitting and crocheting. I enjoy both, although I think I like knitting better. I wish I had more time for it now, but alas, school and homework take precedence. Hopefully I'll one day have more time to enjoy it.
[achtzehn.] Once I started watching Scrubs, it quickly became my favorite show.
[neunzehn.] Our family vacation to Alaska this past summer for my grandparents' 50th anniversary is one of my most cherished memories. I loved every minute of it, and was so blessed that we were able to go. I'd always wanted to go, and now that I have, I really want to go back.
[zwanzig.] I am somewhat of a nature girl. I thank my dad and his brother for that. As a result, I would someday like to canoe the BWCA, camp more, and live in a cabin in the middle of the wilderness. Seriously.
[einundzwanzig.] I just had my golden birthday this past year.
[zweiundzwanzig.] I love coffee. And no, college did not get me addicted. Working at the library the summer after my freshman year of college got me addicted. That was also one of my favorite summers working there. For various ... clerical reasons. :-)
[dreiundzwanzig.] Sometimes, I think being a professional knitter sounds like fun, but oh, the carpal tunnel...
[vierundzwanzig.] I'm a die hard Packers fan, who happens to be dating a Vikings fan. I think this proves God has a sense of humor... :-) For the record, it's not about Favre, it's about the team. And yes, I have come to terms with the fact that he is ridiculous. But I love him anyway.
[fünfundzwanzig.] I have a very German palate. Käse, Kartoffel, Brot und Wurst rank as favorite foods. Bier schmeckt sehr gut auch. :)
