Title: Ferrets in Gutters

Characters: Lar Gand (Mon-El) aka Jonathan Kent, civilians, mention of Superman.
Summary: Ferrets In Gutters, the new age response to the old cat in tree dilemma. Detective Jonathan Kent helps a citizen, and her pet, to the best of his ability. A Mon-El story.

Oh, there's not enough fic about Mon in general, and SO not enough fic about his civilian life, and I loved this so much!

He had enough names - Lar Gand, Mon-El, Jonathan Kent - that he was willing to answer to just about anything.

So true, and he even has a few he doesn't know in this timeline, lol.

I think you captured his mental sort of "voice" just right, how even when exasperated he's so precise and thoughtful.

Jon skipped over the fact that he just equated Superman to a pet ferret with gender issues.

*HOWLS WITH LAUGHTER* Ohhhh, I love the Jacksons and Mr. Wiggles very much, and Mon's attempt to do all this without his powers...and the fact that he kind of fails, lol. He's so adorable!

What I like about Mon is his dry sense of humour that could easily be mistaken for sarcasm on a more bitter person. But when he does it, he's just stating the facts in a slightly self amused way.

I'm glad you like my OCs, they just sort of created themselves. One thing I was amused to notice (but couldn't put in the story because this is from Mon-El's point of view) is that the Jackson's are African American. It's just not the type of thing that Mon would bring up, even in his mental narration!

I'd love to see more people get a look at this! Have you thought about posting at legionnaires or at sprock_you? Both are LOSH comms...technically this isn't a LOSH fic, but since Mon is a Legionnaire, I'm sure no one would quibble. Oh, and maybe comics_genfic?

Superman equated to a pet ferret - oh my! I had to smile. :) But I understood Jon's thought there. :)
