I've posted it at
house_wilson, but I think it'd be more appropriate here :)
Title: Covert glance
Pairing: Hugh Laurie/RSL (and House/Wilson, of course)
Raiting: PG
Disclaimer: House and Wilson belong to FOX, and Hugh and RSL to themselves and their families
I love my house in mountains, I really do. Tell everybody who is ready to listen about it, how my dog likes it, how great it is not to hear LA's constant noice of traffic, and breath in scents of flowers and pines instead of smog, about long-distance walks in the evening or even at night, on my own, when there's no threat of meeting suspicious strangers or being robbed. But there are sertain moments I want to keep all for myself, especially like these ones: when the silence of long evening's walks is broken not only by dog's (who is chasing after racoons and rabbits) barking, but also... well, "broken" isn't correct word, I suppose, when there are wisecracking jokes and queit laugh are mingled with birds singing among the trees, when leisurely discussions or heated arguments are always clever and a joy to listen to and participate in. Or simply when silence does exist, and it's companionable and warm, with exchange of glances between two men, who are in love, who love and are loved back.
And right now all the lights in house've been turned off, and the room is lit only by logs burning in the fireplace. Shooting of season six hasn't started yet, and this evening is one of the last quiet ones left. Robert, tired, has fallen asleep in Hugh's arms, right in the middle of the sentence he was trying to form, and Hugh is trying to keep up with the conversation (always a gentleman!), while struggling not to doze off himself, speaking in a low tone, that he coudn't wake up his friend, neither changing his position on the couch, nor breaking an embrace... I could admire them being together as much time as possible. Preferably forever. And to think, smilng to myself, that "House"-fans have no faintest idea where Doris Egan draws inspiration for writing House and Wilson.
