Last weekend i went snowboarding in Vermont. It was a three day weekend so the mountain was packed with little kiddies. It was so packed that they were sending four people at a time up the chairlift....
So there i was in line with Alex. There were four kids in front of us who were about 11 or 12 years old. I watched them slide out to get ready to get on the chairlift and then I looked away for a second. When i looked back, the chairlift was stopped and all four kids were laying on the ground because they had missed the chair and it knocked them off the platform. The chairlift operator started yelling at them and telling them to stop goofing off (they weren't really goofing off, they were just bad snowboarders). Anyhoo, the chairlift guy told two of them to go to the back of the line and the other two to get on the next chair with Alex and me. Of course thats my luck.
So, let me break away for a minute and tell you that as much as I have improved the chair lift is still an obstacle. Its tricky because when you get to the top you have to push yourself off the chair and make it down a steep incline. Meanwhile, only one foot is strapped into the board.
Back to the story. So we get near the top and Alex is coaching me on how to have a safe dismount off the chairlift. So I joked and said that if I needed to i would just grab one of the little kids to break my fall. So now we are at the top and I am pretty confident because all day I had done the chairlift successfully. This time I got off to a good start but then one of the stupid kids clipped my snowboard with his and I fell and twisted my knee very badly. I have been limping all week. I felt okay one day when Alex's mom gave me some special green pills. But I still can't put much pressure on it.
The end.
