I'm so sorry you felt you had to make this move although I do understand it.

Yep, it's pretty rubbish. Although I've seen a climb down post recently from LJ saying how it was not so much a misunderstanding but a poorly executed response to worries about the type of people with LJs and communities. Too little too late, I think, because the damage is kind of done.

I know of one comm that's asked all the people who've posted fics to it to go back and F.lock them all.

I hate viewing my journal before I log in and it's one big empty page. And I hate that people who might want to read my stuff might be put off by having to friend me first.

Still, what's done is done. ^_^

I'm hoping the lj craziness will settle down in time. Meanwhile, you have friended me and I've friended you back and I still can't read your stories. :(

Argh. See I'm not that up on LJ so obviously I've done something stupid.

You know what...I'm going to unlock my journal. Not the fics, but I'll see if I have put too high a level of protection on it. Sorry about this. Please bear with me while I go tinker. :(

Ok, I think I've figured out it. I've seen a post on Slashfest where someone asked how F-locking their entries would affect people reading their fics. Apparently (assuming the reply was correct) if a posting to a comm is F-locked, you need to be a member of that comm to read the post.

With the exception of Silence, all my stories are posted on comms so I think that might be why you can't read them.

Internet snoops be damned. I'm unlocking the fics on the other communities, except for Slashfest because they've asked all their writers to F-lock their posts.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't I guess. *sighs*

Sorry again for all the hassle.

Don't worry about it. I've resisted adding more comms as I'm trying to get my flist under control but maybe I should just give up. :) I'm sorry to put you to so much trouble. Please don't do anything you're uncomfortable with on my behalf.

Mmmm..I know the feeling. Every time I try to catch up with my flist it feels like I'm swimming up stream, but I can't resist adding more comms and journals. Need help, I think.

Re: removing the lock, I've done that for all except the Slashfest fics. It's no trouble - I didn't really want to lock them in the first place, and I'm more than grateful that you would like to read one of my stories.

Thank you! :)
