I had a great time in LA. Everything was so wonderful, and went so well. The director was amazing. He was the best director I've ever had. He seemed to really understand us, and he wanted us to bond as a choir. It really worked. We all loved him, and at the end we loved each other. I don't ever remember crying at a choir thing. Ok actually I do. I cried at the Region choir auditions because I thought I hadn't made it again and I was just so shocked when they called me out for first chair I just grabbed Gavin and started crying. Anyway, I got off topic a bit there heh. He did all these things with us, like he turned off the lights and had us close our eyes and hold hands and sing together. And it really worked! The top row of our section actually held hands during one of the songs in the concert. I probably sound sappy to most of you, but it just feels so wonderful. To be able to share something you're passionate about with people who are just as passionate about it as you are.

And the little things were so wonderful too. Like on one of our breaks, some of us were standing around the piano, and someone started playing "Brick" by Ben Folds and we all gathered round the piano and started singing along. It was so surreal because we were from so many different places, but we were all remembering when and where we had first heard that song and why it was important enough to us to want to sing along. And when Susanne was talking about songs that had her name in it and I mentioned that Weezer had a song called Susanne and she knew what I was talking about.

And besides the great emotional experience I had with the choir, we sounded amazing. I can't wait to get the DVD and CD.

On the last day, Mr. Redding(the director) told us a story of a director he had had in college who had really affected him in a good way. This director had died ten years ago, but he wanted our concert to be for him so he put a picutre of his director in his tuxedo pocket. This made me want to sing so much better because Mr. Redding affected me the way his director affected him. At the end of the concert he would show us the picture and that just made me cry even more.

Then the next morning my mom and I were watching tbs and sobbing at stepmom and fried green tomatoes. So basically I've just been crying alot.
I hope you've all been well.
