Hermione had argued her case for an hour. Hannah just looked at her and said, “You don’t want me. I’m a dropout NEWT student who barely passed fifth year.”
Luna Lovegood said, “Hermione’s brighter than me, and Ginny’s a better hexer, but I’m rejoining.”
Hannah protested, “But I told you, my NEWTs…”
Luna wore her usual dreamy expression as she said:
“Draco Malfoy’s friends spent all last year doing remedial OWLs.”
Hannah stood up. “Hermione’s brighter than me,” she repeated, “And Ginny’s a better hexer.” She looked at Luna and smiled. “But I’m rejoining.”
She drew her wand. “Let’s go.”
