I had stuff in my head about Obama's
comments regarding Reagan, but my brain is too shot from work today to make any sense of it. What do you guys think? I don't buy that he was idolizing Reagan for actions against the Civil Rights and Women's Equality movements, which is what some seem to be implying or outright saying.
I also think Clinton is getting a bit of a bum rap over this
casino caucus issue. I did notice today that on the podcast Amy Goodman did say '...the teachers union and supporters of Hillary Clinton...' but the emphasis is mine, Amy kinda ran it together. Clinton claims the teachers union has not endorsed her (i haven't actually checked that out), so how much is any of this her fault?
Okay, i'm trying to somewhat block out Huckabee and particularly Romney 'cause it seems i don't have anything nice to say about either one. But...
Fuck Mitt Romney. I just don't know how a guy can sleep at night when he puts himself out there as such a blue collar populist, giving people unrealistic expectations (sure Detroit, we can totally bring back all those outsourced jobs) about their economy, when he made (and continues to make) millions of dollars from a leveraged buyout firm that he helped start up- which in addition to profiting off of faltering companies has offshore accounts/shadow businesses in the Caribbean specifically to help its clients avoid paying US taxes, money that could potentially be used to help out victims of the economic downturn. (holy run-on, Batman) Jeez, how did the cat get so motherfucking fat? What a
douche bag. At least McCain was realistic about the outsourcing, which i'm sure contributed somewhat to his loss in MI.
Part of me wants to vote in the Republican primary just to give McCain some support- to me he's by far the best (or least bad?) of the lot. Perhaps the least Repubby of the Republicans, as some might say.
Anyway, back to work- i'm waiting on an incubation, will probably be here until about 7:30pm. Happy Friday.
PS. I'm thinking of moving these political/etc posts to a different venue, maybe wordpress or blogspot or something, rather than just have them as public entries on my otherwise friends-only LJ. Thoughts? Would anyone actually read it and comment if it didn't just show up on your friends page?
