In an attempt to be more informed, i've been listening to a lot of news podcasts lately, mostly BBC World News and the Democracy Now! War and Peace report. I'm a fan of the podcasts, since i listen to my ipod most of the day at work anyway, it works well for me.
Anyway, with regard to the elections there have been some interesting/informative pieces on the War and Peace report lately, including:
--Who are the presidential candidates' advisers? (
Jan 3). Of course it is democracy now so the focus is on the advisers linked to past "atrocities," like the bombing of Serbia (Wesley Clark, advising Clinton) or the Afghan jihad movement (Zbigniew Brzezinski, advising Obama).
--A discussion of election manipulation (Jan 8) with
Allen Raymond, who did time for his role in the jamming of NH Democratic Party phone lines in '02. There was also a more thorough explanation of election results (i.e. what it means to "win a state").
