While watching Laurence Olivier's Richard III tonight (for the 1000th time, okay) I started thinking about the tight hose the men wear and thinking about the potential side effects of such a fashion.
They must have gotten jock itch on the regular.
And they didn't even have tough-actin' Tinactin to help them out. I've never had jock itch but I have had athlete's foot from walking around the Jewish Community Center changing room without flip-flops, and if I hadn't had my little tube of clotrimazole I would have died.
Died.
So...yeah, I would like to know how the people of the past treated their various fungal pestilences. I will probably write my IS on it or something, and then I will win a million awards, and the title will be a punny name referring to Monistat.
