Whoa yo. i haven't updated for a google milleniums and a half. I've been a busy bee lately - haven't had any time for going online much. i've signed on less than 5 times ever since school started. In a way, that's good, cuz AIM does do a good job of distracting you from all your work. And being busy as hell is actually a good thing, cuz you know, or at least feel like, you're being productive. I'm starting to like Exeter cuz i do feel productive. I'm taking pretty intense courses - doubling in math (bc calc and the multivariable calc) is hardcore x2 - and i talk more in class, too. I still miss WA alot though, you guys get to have class field trips n'ish. Exeter doesn't even provide an end-o-the-year senior class trip! wth...
I had my interview with an MIT alum yesterday. Every aspect of it was horrible. I had trouble answering his questions, we disagreed on several things (from the importance of TV to financial success), and, on a whole, I gave him the impression that I was stupid, incompetent, and definitely unsuitable for his college. SCrew him and the interview. I'll rely on my application, teacher rec's, essays, and grades. That guy was too biased, arrogant, not to mention damn immature - the guy was 38 and seemed like some college kid who was twenty - to be decent interviewer.
Oh, i have to talk about my awesome "college-day" trip this Wednesday. I skipped a day of classes (which only amounted to 1 class, because Wednesdays at Exeter are French-style: they're half-days) and took the 7:30 am to Boston. I had to wake up damn early at 6 am and almost decided against going because it was POURING outside. So I was pretty drenched on board the train, which arrived 10 minutes late btw, and I ended up spending the 1 hour 20 min ride filling out the trivial information secion on my mit application. This would be my first time taking the Amtrak Downeaster train to boston - not to mention my 4th or 5th time taking the T - so i was pretty nervous about getting lost n' shit. (i had gotten seriously disoriented in Boston about 2 yrs ago *ahem, thanks a lot Robinson*)
Anyways, i ended up eating breakfast at Au Bon Pain and was 5 minutes late for the information session because the campus was big and I had left my drink in the bathroom so i had to walk a couple blocks back to get it (hey, i was thirsty..). Information session went pretty swell ... except when they said that they viewed ppl who took the SAT over and over to get a better score (a.k.a. me) as mere over-achievers and perfectionists. Whatever, if MIT doesn't appreciate my SAT scores, then other colleges will.
So at 12:30, after the info session and the tour (which was friggin 1 1/2 hours! holy ish..), I took a little walk to Newbury St. I almost got blown into the Charles River walking across the memorial drive bridge cuz it was so fuckin windy. o btw, the newbury comics on newbury street is the worst newbury comics i've ever entered. it didn't have any new CDs at all and sold them at the same prices as any other cd shop. I had some bubble Thai Iced tea for lunch (it wasn't bad, but it was too expensive - over 4 dollars - and didn't have enough tapioca). It got kinda chilly, so I bounced over to Copley Place. Got some hot Banana pants for 10 bucks each (amazing...), then got a bite at Cheesecake Factory. they still had their lunch menu at 4 in the afternoon, so i got some louisiana chicken pasta (mad good!!) and filled the rest o my stomach up with two baskets o bread (which also was mad good). Sadly, i didn't have any room for cheesecake...
Well, i have loads of physics and English homework to do. I dunno when the next time i'll be able to visit WA is but hopefully, it'll be soon. inthe meantine, i'll talk to u guys online.
