Finally a long weekend!
Or any weekend, really. The last three weeks have been non stop, what with work all week, then leaving for petawawa for amry work for ten days, then another full work week starting the next day... je suis fatigue. no wonder I slept till noon today.
In wedding news, I have mailed all of the invitations that require mailing, and today I will be cutting up the remaining local ones and delivering them by hand. I am only about a month late, since the wedding is not till the 29th of october lol. Its already two, so I should probably get started on that. I also did a preliminary fitting for Melody's bridesmaid dress last night, so I should do some work on that today.
In food news: We just did a trip to the market, man is it hot outside. But, we did return excitedly brandishing several varieties of exotic dried sausage. I was hoping to do a roast chicken for dinner but the butcher was closed. I will have to think of somethine new to make, I at least have tiny little potatoes and green beans. I should also put the bread machine on, we arried at the tail end of the market day, so most of the good bread was gone. Oh! I also bought more peaches, so peach pie is in the works today. Maybe I will even brew some beer. That can wait until later.
In previously made food news: I need to try the pickles I made three weeks ago, I got halfway through the recipe before I realised they were sweet pickles, which I am not a fan of, but we shall see! It was also my first time making pickles, so hopefully they are edible. Several peopoe I know may soon be given pickles! Consider that a warning! My peach jam, however, (which I am now caling peach preserves, since it didnt set) is excellent. I only put in two cups of sugar and it seems super sweet to me, but the recipe called for 8! This is why I make my own jam. This is also probably why it didnt set lol.
In terms of weekend plans I have none, apart from a birthday party tomorrow night and a potential movie viewing (of what? I dont know! Hopefully Apollo 18?) tomorrow afternoon. The overall plan was to relax, but I am not too good at that as you can see! Also this place is a mess.
Anyway, now is the time to put ingredients in the bread machine, to make a pot of tea, to put a movie on, and to finally finish these invitations, and then to go a-delivering.
Charley's cinnamon laced coffee is fucking amazing, even cold. That is all.
I wish that industrious was an LJ mood option. I havent produced anything yet!
