Yeah so, this is probably news to several people since it all happened within a week, but I got offered an interview on Wednesday, had the interview on Friday, and got offered the job three hours later by email. When I got the email I confirmed that I would take the job, around 9ish yesterday. The job? An archaeological technician position in Toronto. The private side of archaeology, and the best bet for me right now. It involves going to various sites as part of a team and surveying/digging where needed. Its entry level, but I dont have Canadian experience with excavation and this will give it to me. Pretty much I've just gotten the job I aimed for when I was 17, and which I planned to do all through 6 years of university. I'm still processing.
In terms of plan alteration, this job starts in May and goes to the frost, ie December. This means I will have to postpone all army training in the summer, and possibly remove my application for a monthlong job in Italy that I applied to (that will depend on the hard dates). Also it involves moving back home to Toronto. I expect I'll be around on weekends most of the time tho :)
I figure looking before leaping is optional, as long as it seems like a really cool cliff.
Otherwise, I'm having trouble with stress reactions this week. I'm probably burning out a bit, this weekend is the first one I have off since January. I am inordinately excited to be home. That said, I still have a govt job application to finish for Monday (its a long shot and wouldnt start anytime soon anyway). So far this morning I have been puttering, drinking tea, and cleaning the apartment. I should be sewing and or playing video games, as that is what I want to do, but I cant seem to relax. Also tons of errands to run this afternoon. I find that when I put work first so that I can relax later I never get around to the relaxing part. So with that in mind, I'm going to go play tanks.
