It's a trap!

Why are humans so evil? Why is it, that they try to take down other people to benefit themselves? Why would anyone want to take advantage of another person in need?

I get so frustrated sometimes! I was contacted by this scammer with a deal almost too good to be true, and it turns out, it is too good to be true. I don't know what the scam was exactly, 'cause my warning bells went off pretty early, but it would have been the perfect job for my needs right now. It was temporary, well paid, and would fit nicely in my strange schedule. yargh.

And what's worse, now I can't trust anyone. I have two leads for some supplemental work, and one of them feels right- I've met him, his dog, and his twins, we talked about comic books, but he wants me to fill out some paperwork, and my bells go off. -paperwork is normal! And then there's this second person who my bells have already gone off- for a contract runner position. He wants to do a phone interview. He's probably going to ask for my information- but I'm not comfortable giving it. How the hell does one go about getting work from strangers in a time when scam artists are plentiful?

It's a brave new world I guess.

How did our species get so messed up?

So for those of you who don't know, I am looking for some supplemental work to my teaching schedule. I teach a bunch of afterschool stuff, and saturday mornings. Tuesday morning I teach with barrel of monkeys (volunteer- for now) and Fridays out in palatine. So I have all this random daytime hours to which I need to be making *some* kind of money. I am pretty sure I'll be able to pull in some hours doing some dog walking (or it's a scam- more on that later, I guess).

I would LOVE to find some sewing gig that I could do from home. Even better would be a one time job that paid a lot. I seriously need to get into film.

Any suggestions will be welcomed.
