Eleffant Foot theater presents, A.W.O.L, a highly charged physical performance with haunting sounds of live Middle Eastern drumming and ecstatic poetry.
You are invited to experience this amazing theatrical collision, where realistic characters enter the world of bouffons in a sandbox otherwise known as the Arabian Desert. Framed by a simple story of a US soldier and an American interrogator going AWOL from the War in Iraq, Babylonian madness emerges from the abyss in front of our eyes. Bouffons dance around the cradle of civilization, healing the wounds of our conscience with earthly medicine. To make this fantasy world come alive, the stage will be covered in two tons of actual sand. This four week run of AWOL will be the last show at Peter Jones Gallery Theater before they shut their doors forever at the end of June. Don't miss it!
