Happy birthday to Larry

Larry is forty-one today. Last night I surprised him with a Larry's Layered Dessert (tm), five alternating layers of divinity* and dark chocolate fudge. I have a very exciting day planned for all of us. Scooter's babysitter is back in town and will be keeping him after our library lapsit time. Larry and I are going downtown to eat at a brazilian roast style restaurant for lunch that he last visited the day before his marathon, when he couldn't have meat. That still makes me giggle. Next will be a viewing of Sweeney Todd at the downtown Alamo Drafthouse, which is a local movie chain and brewery. Lastly, Schroeder will be joining us for a Schoolhouse Rock Sing-a-long at an Irish pub.

We had a very Jextastic new year, which means we were visited by Josh and Bex on their way back to Canada. We introduced them to migas, a kickass Mexican breakfast scramble with crisp tortilla pieces. We also watched Walk Hard. Meh. Possibly my least favorite Apatow effort, kind of tie between it and Superbad. Much better than most movies, but lacking subtlety. Scoot was kind of a mess during their visit. I don't know if I'll ever be able to convince them that he's not spoiled rotten. We 1)impulsively bought him a toy at Waterloo Records and 2)gave him some ice cream.

Running to get everything ready for Schroeder for lapsit and the rest of his day with Sara.

*I've no idea how fewer than two people can make divinity. Mine ended up more like fondant, hence the layering.
