He lays on the piano Lucy-from-Peanuts style. She is his Schroder. He sighs happily, his chin in the crook of his palms.
“Beautiful,” he whispers.
“Oh, thanks. It took several hours to wri-“
“No. Not the song. Well, yes, the song, but…” He swings his legs over the side of the piano and hops off. “I meant you.”
He doesn’t understand how people could not find the beauty in her. It absolutely radiates with this amazing intensity and makes his knees shake, his stomach lurch. But in a good way.
She blushes, looks away.
And then he kisses her.
