Taylor tries to leave the science lab but Sharpay is blocking her only exit.
“What do you want?” Taylor asks frustrated.
“I want to give you this,” Sharpay says proudly holding up a banana cream pie.
“Why?” Taylor asks un-amused.
“It’s a peace offering. I want to apologize for that thing I said before.”
“And you think pie is going to make it all better?”
“I just--”
“Did Ryan put you up to this?”
“He may have suggested it.”
“And I’m sure your boyfriend baked it.”
“Zeke wanted to help.”
“Sharpay, you can keep your pie. I don’t want it.”
“But Taylor I--”
“Don’t even bother, Sharpay. You can’t even apologize the right way.”
“I’m trying, Taylor. I really am.”
“I can see that. You force your brother to tell you my favorite dessert and then you get your boyfriend to bake it. Tell me how this is an apology from you. It seems like it’s from Ryan and Zeke and they didn’t do anything wrong.”
“I wanted to apologize, I just didn’t know how to go about it. The pie was my idea. I just needed their help.”
“I don’t believe you, Sharpay.”
“You what?”
“I don’t believe you.”
“Taylor, why would I lie about this. I mean I may lie sometimes, but Zeke and Ryan don’t lie. Ask them, they’ll tell you.”
“No. I didn’t mean it like that. I meant you didn’t have to do all this to say sorry. Just a simple apology would have been fine.”
“Oh.”
“I don’t need pie.”
“I was just trying to be nice.”
“I appreciate it, and apology accepted.”
“I was a little worried you were going to shove that pie in my face.”
“Well, good thing Zeke made it. If it was store bought this would have gone differently.”
