Author's Notes/Warning: The show mentioned is "Into the Woods".
The cast list went up, and Sharpay was not the first one there; she had to go to detention for texting during her math class.
So it was lunchtime and Ryan was camping out by the list, a copious amount of chocolate in his messenger bag. He was Rapunzel's Prince, a role he was happy with. But Sharpay had not been listed in the role she felt she was perfect for. Hence the chocolate.
A fact that caused her to scream when she saw it.
Ryan, unable to help himself, started to hum. "Agony! That can cut like a knife!"

After much convincing, and the reminder that the Baker's Wife was a large role, perhaps larger than Cinderella's, Sharpay embraced her role.
Ms. Darbus, able to start scheduling, was thrilled.
Zeke, playing the Baker, was thrilled.
And Chad, playing Cinderella's Prince, was more than thrilled.
"You know what this means?" he asked Ryan during the 'intermission' of their first read through.
Ryan looked at him. "What?"
"If Sharpay isn't Cinderella, then I don't have anything to do with her!" Seeing Ryan's amused expression, he asked, "...right?"
Ryan just laughed, once more singing out, "Agony! That can cut like a knife!"
