And this, kiddies, is why you don't spend ten plus minutes tinkering with the format of your post. These won't be counted towards the finally tally, but I hope you enjoy them nonetheless.

Title: Questioning
Team: Jocks
Challenge: Kiss
Character/Pairing: Ryan, random classmate
Rating: PG
Author's Notes/Warning: Gay. Sort of follows ' Expectations', but could stand alone.

It's ninth grade.

Ryan is older now, no longer abiding by Sharpay's beliefs that kisses should all be perfect and perfectly romantic.

The male lead of the spring musical is Sam, the dreamiest senior ever. Ryan gets a minor role. Afterwards they're at the cast party, Ryan hanging awkwardly around the refreshments, alone.

So when Sam walks over and slings his arm around Ryan's shoulder, it surprises him. It's unexpected, but it's comfortable. Warm. He likes it.

Sam does too; after a few exchanged words, Sam's lips are on his.

There are fireworks, there are thrills and Ryan is happy.

Title: Denial
Team: Jocks
Challenge: Kiss
Character/Pairing: Ryan, Kelsi
Rating: PG
Author's Notes/Warning: How did this turn into a series? Anyways, implied gay. ...and I may have accidentally insulted my team. Sorry guys, I love you!

Tenth grade.

Ryan hears what the popular jocks call him behind his back.

Her name is Kelsi, she's a new student, nice girl. Timid, helps in tech and sets and behind the scenes, but nice.

At lunch, Ryan has no where to sit, so he commonly goes to the theatre, as does Kelsi.

One day he has heard too much, so as he joins Kelsi for lunch, he kisses her.

No chapped lips, no bumping noses, but still a feeling of not right.

Ryan pulls back, blushing. "Sorry."

She looks at him sadly for a moment. "It's okay. I understand."

Title: Apathy
Team: Jocks
Challenge: Kiss
Character/Pairing: Ryan and Sharpay
Rating: PG
Author's Notes/Warning: This turned out to be more of a denial then I intended.

It's eleventh grade.

Sharpay wants a boyfriend, deserves a boyfriend, needs a boyfriend. And when Sharpay wants a boyfriend, at first she looks at every possibility, highlighting every possible reason why she and the passing guy could be, and are, perfect.

She lists off positive trait by positive trait, and Ryan is nodding not out of agreement, but because he has to. As she narrows the list, discussing the negative traits, Ryan nods, not mentally arguing each insult.

Her eyes roam a boy's body, but his do not follow.

Sharpay really wants a boyfriend. Ryan does not, not at all.

Title: Acceptance
Team: Jocks
Challenge: Kiss
Character/Pairing: Ryan/Chad
Rating: PG
Author's Notes/Warning: :3

Senior year.

Ryan is gay. He's never said it, has no reason to, but he's finally admitted it to himself. He is gay, gay, gay.

And as it turns out, so is Chad.

...which doesn't surprise Ryan that much; Sharpay, with her 'fabulous gaydar', had been speculating for the past year.

They're both in detention, Ryan for texting, Chad for sleeping, and what's surprising is that they're talking. They had talked before, but now they're really talking, about nothing and everything, really opening up.

When they kiss, it's somewhere between expected and unexpected, and Ryan decides to call it perfect.
