Fourth grade, Valentine's Day. She hates it every year. She hates the obligatory candy everyone is forced to pass out. She hates seeing Sharpay get extra valentines, more than anyone else. She hates seeing Ryan be her sidekick, unacknowledged by himself.
At recess she takes a handfull of Hershey's chocolate kisses and arranges them in a heart on his desk, a note attached in her slanted scrawl: Happy Valentine's Day, a heart as her signature. She watches with anticipation as he looks confused and then pleased when he comes back to class. She loves that she can make him smile.

author's notes: drabble two. companion to above drabble. even though i put senior year, it has nothing to do with hsm3.
Senior year, Valentine's Day. She still hates it. Despite valentine cards no longer a requirement, Sharpay still recieves them, CandyGram after CandyGram. With the added disgusting levels of perfect that are Troy and Gabriella, Kelsi isn't sure she can stand it.
Theatre class is surprising. On her desk there are Hershey kisses aligned in a heart, a note beneath them. Happy Valentine's Day. I never forgot fourth grade. Love, Ryan. It makes her blush and wonder how he knew it was her.
When he surprises her with a real kiss behind the gym after school, how he knew doesn't seem to matter.
