So:
I was really bitchy about the latest One Piece colorspread. I can't believe Oda let Zoro lose an arm on his own (I mean...kind of a big deal), Chopper's hat is stupid, Nami's basically pure fanservice, and WHAT THE HELL SANJI. More on Sanji later
and
I avoided spoilers like the plague, which is unusual.
Therefore, reading the actual chapter was a pleasant, even pleasurable surprise.
&hearts Nami's hair, as well as her attitude. Her scene reminds me of the bar scene on Jaya.
✕ The gratuitous fanservice, which I'm thinking is going to be the norm from here on out.
&hearts That Usopp gained so much self-confidence but is still a complete dork
&hearts IDK Sanji still cracks me up with his dumbassery, and I love his scene with Duval.
✕ Sanji's goatee. Seriously. What the hell. Why would someone who is so concerned with his physical and sartorial appearance do that to himself. It is not so much the beard itself as it is the color. Black? Really? Did you draw it on with a Sharpie, Sanj? Are you dying it? Or is that your natural color and it's your hair that's artificial? Either way, the contrast is gross. PLEASE RECONSIDER.
✕ Um Zoro what happened to your arm? Also your eye? Is it permanently closed? I am sure you are still a badass swordsman either way but those were kind of important developments in your life and I am sad that Oda did not let us share them with you. Anyway I hope this doesn't mean you'll be carrying two swords in your mouth now because that would be ridiculous.
&hearts The fake Strawhats. Fake Nami and Fake Robin make me laugh so hard.
&hearts Robin. Just everything about Robin. Also that she's still older than me, but let's not get into that.
✕ What Oda did to Hancock. That is all I will say about that. For now.
✕ I'm sorry, but Chopper's hat is seriously hideous. Feel free to disagree, but I'm standing by this statement.
&hearts Chopper.
&hearts Franky's haircut! I am actually so excited to see him again because you know, with that cut, crazy awesome shenanigans are about to ensue. I just want to see Franky, Sanji, and Zoro in one frame together.
&hearts Brooke. Again, everything about him.
I'm still cautiously enthusiastic about this whole time-skip thing - even if I am glad that OP is back in general - since for the last few years my feelings about the series have roller-coastered so wildly. More than anything, I just want to see everyone together, in one place, as soon as possible.
