Summer has been good to me. I got certified as a scuba diver, my building at my summer internship closes everyday at 6pm, and I got a new puppy (see above). His name is Aidan. I know, it's not a very "dog" sounding name and it's a sex and the city character but after calling him "go-go" (mandarin for dog) for 2-weeks, someone had to come up with a name. My mom started calling him Adar, which is an endearing term in Taiwanese but no one else in my family could pronounce it. We ended up with the closest name to Adar-- Aidan, an Irish name. We are such sellouts.
He's learned to greet me by hyping himself up for 2 seconds before jumping up on my thighs with both front paws and then eagerly licking my ears (of course, when i am then squatting and cooing at him at this point).
Another highlight of my summer-- ran into one of my girls from high school who I had fallen out of touch with at a random layover in Philly at 10:30 at night. She was coming from cali and I was coming from st. john. She was an old school homie. The kind that has been through thick and thin. Ran into her at the gate minutes before boarding and it turned out that her seat was next to mine. Used to think that those moments of fate only happened in the movies.
