Steuchlein - Underpinnings

Saw this image and it reminded me of an 'extant' sample. Perhaps this is the elusive 'Wulsthaube' in action. Perhaps not. But it does look awfully familiar by comparison:


Here is the one it reminds me of. Does anyone recall the period this is dated to? I know it isn't strictyly 'German' but I can't seem to remember where it is from (Hungary?):



A friend got over to the museum and took this sketch of what he saw there:



The 'bulls eye' on the front forehead section is what got me thinking...I also found this image of hair dressed in a 'roll' fashion without braids. The shape is wrong (roll would be on top if this was the support for a Steuchlein), but it does raise the possibility of this sort of dressing without the 'lumpy' braids look.
