End of term draws ever closer . . . Was excited to discover a reference to Hopf, of the Hopf-Thrinow Process in geometric arithmancy, in a book I borrowed from one of the people with whom I share an office today. Apparently he was admired for the utter clarity of his lectures. Very tempted to read the rest of the memoir in order to learn more about the personalities of famous arithmancers, but should perhaps control the urge to read background material until I have slogged through Carp & Coddington.
