So I just read my friends' postings for the past week, and I found them enjoyable, as usual. I don't know why I like to hear what everyone is doing and/or thinking currently, but I do. I often feel a lot like mangokat and wonder why I even bother to post, but I'd like to assume that other people like reading my posts half as much as I like reading theirs.

We are back in Tallahassee, where the weather is absolutely perfect. I wore this cute little dress yesterday that I got over break because the weather was too lovely for constrictive (is that a word?) items like jeans. School work has started with a vengence. My first day back, a paper due next week was assigned (grr!) and I had a three hour meeting with my advisor/boss about stuff that has to be done for the class I am TAing. Thursday I had 4 hours of class to attend, plus I had to go to the main campus to do book things (library, bookstore). For those of you who don't know, my department is off-campus about 1 mile, so parking is never a problem and a rarely head over to the madness which is the main campus. The problem with the main campus is that there is not enough parking, so unless you go before 8 a.m., you are screwed. I ended up driving aimlessly through the parking lot for 30 minutes before I caved and parking (illegally) in the teacher's lot. From now on, I will just walk.

My goals for this weekend are to finish cleaning stuff/putting stuff away (my suitcase is still in the living room) and to get a strong start on my first paper and presentation (both due Wednesday). I have been struggling with the topic a little bit, but I sent out an email to the Brians* in the class and hopefully they will be able to help me figure things out.

*The Brians is a common term used in my department here at FSU. It refers to any group of people named Brian. There are at least 10 people named Brian, so it is quite common to find groups of Brians around. In my case, both of the TAs working with me this semester are named Brian, and both of the other graduate students in one of my classes are also named Brian (different sets).
