Week 2 of 2017

Jan 15, 2017 19:28

This week was certainly less productive than the last, since Mr. Faxe managed to transfer his cold to me - there is a gift I would have rather been without! Having seen him going through it, I stayed home from work as soon as I felt my throath getting sore, and it seems I have managed to avoid the coughing at least...

Still, before I fell ill, I managed two smaller workouts, and I washed and oiled my racing bike, because all this salt on the roads is just eating away all the delicate parts.

And today I felt well enough to do a painting in the sketchbook, for the 52 week challenge that I mentioned last week.

So below the cut from the prompt "Rising to a challenge"

The next page in the sketchbook was a bit of a challenge since some of the color from last week had seeped through the page as you can see from below:

The tape is to stop the color I am going to apply from escaping on to the rest of the page. That was not entirely succesful, but I really liked the patterns the color made where it escaped along the edges of the tape.

Here is the final image:

I quite like it. :)

Next week is "retelling of a fairytale" so if you have any ideas for a fairytale I could use, I would love to hear from you!

art stuff, 52 weeks
