I was just thinking about friends, esp those who you enjoy conversing with, and I remembered High School lunch. See, Lunch was never long enough; we'd always have to go to class before we could really finish our conversations (or arguments or what have you). It was the most exciting time of the day. I was remembering one time in sophmore year, it was a monday, and I was so excited to get to lunch and have glorious conversation with my friends. I got out of my previous class early and ran to the lunch line and got my lunch real quick and was up there sitting down starting to eat waiting for all my friends to show up, and Mikey showed up and asked "what are you doing here?" That's when it struck me. On mondays, there were 2 lunch periods, whereas on all other days everyone had the same lunch time. I had the later lunch, mikey the earlier, and all so fast I realized that in my eagerness to eat shitty school food and chat it up with my friends, I was actually missing my 4th period class. Well, it was gym, which has the alotted locker room time, so I ended up hardly being late at all, but my lunch got awful cold waiting for me for all of 4th period.
Flash forward 4 years to last night, I'm sitting with mostly the same people I spent oh so many lunch periods with through highschool: Eric, Tristan, Mikey, Eimeric, plus a few additions. Except, now we're in a 24-hour diner, at 1 in the morning, basically having the old High School lunch, but it's at our convenience. We can sit and talk about our wild ideas for things to do or other people we know or what would make good band names or what movies kicked ass, and it's at our liesure.
I think it's pretty awesome that we can do that.
