I normally try to get to the polls fairly early in the day, but this morning it was raining hard. The rain finally stopped at about 2pm, so I wandered down to do my civic duty and then a bit of grocery shopping. The back path I took on the way home wasn't quite a stream, but it was trying hard to become one.
In other news, I've been along to the local radio club both last week and this, for the usual evening's natter. Last week's GB2CW Morse practice went better than usual, and this morning's went very well; I missed just one character, and that in the slowest (5 words per minute) passage. All the rest (8wpm, 12wpm and numbers) was error-free.
We went to the nMC rehearsal over in Epping last Sunday. It seemed to go well. We got through everything, and nothing was too much of a struggle. Even the traffic going there and back wasn't too bad, and we got home before 10pm.
We've managed to do only a little garden work, as the weather's been wet and the slopes are slippery, but many of the fallen leaves are now in the compost heap rather than all over the place, and one of the thickest bits of shrub jungle has been mostly tamed. Inevitably there's still a great deal to do, but progress is progress, and we've also had at least a couple of quietish days to recharge.
Tonight, if we still have the energy, we're going to go out for dinner.
