Well after weeks of grueling practice, and a Saturday morning practice, we had a short break where I quickly drove home, got a shower, and drove back. There I got my lunch, Arby's Market Fresh Roast Beef and Swiss Sandwich from my dad, and were were off onto charter buses to Tate. This would be the culmination of our marching season.
We got there, waited around for a while, then warmed up, and performed for prelims. I felt really tired for some reason before the show, but I think we did well. Colorgaurd was even rated the best. Then by random draw, we got picked in our order for Finals. Afterwards we got on our buses to go to the mall for dinner (2 slices of pizza at Sbarro). Then back to Tate for Finals. This was it, our last chance to best Choctaw. We warmed up, then went. I think we did great, except for the part where our drum major, "Mr. High" Max Lee, decides to not give us a horns up for the first number. We all got em up quickly enough when he started conducting. Other than that it was great. Then we put the horns up, and watched the rest of the bands that were left. Afterwards, we got down for the full band retreat. It turns out that we got 2nd in everything because of Choctaw. Oh well... *Update* Monday, we listen to some judege's tapes, and Mr. Folsom gives us a lecture about how its not about what place we got, but only that we did our best. He adds that he thinks the judges just "put down the wrong numbers"
