...but instead of whining about things, I thought I'd share a new web toy I found recently.
Its called
StumbleUpon. It installs a little toolbar and you can pick categories of things you are intrested in (I believe mine are photography, music, classical music, and food/cooking). You click the Stumble button and it takes you to a random website that corresponds to one of your interests. However, let's say you just want to stumble one particular interest. You can do that. I've been looking at really highly regarded photographers web sites, and frankly I start to get a little down. There imagery... Well, as an example, I had a thought about doing some sort of project at Flipside. The problem is I couldn't figure out how to do it without it becoming some voyeuristic spectacle I was documenting. And then I Stumbled Upon this:
http://www.benjaminkrain.com/ Once your to the site, click WHAT then Burning Man. The more stuff I look at like this the more ideas and less constraints I feel like I have in my own work. I've GOT to go shoot me some stuff. As it looks like I'm headed to Denton on Friday for Bradley B's homecoming show/CD release, I'll probably drag my camera along that night and see what I can come up with shooting at the venue. I've not shot music performance before, so this will be a new challenge.
