Watched BALL OF FIRE (1941), a movie interesting mainly because it serves as the first version of one of my favorite movies, A SONG IS BORN (1947). Fascinating. A Song Is Born is one of my favorite classics, and I had no idea there was an earlier version. I may have to track that down.
