So far, I like the show, but it's giving me cause to realize that my reactions to certain elements may be a little... atypical.

SAM. "When I was nine, I told Dad that I was afraid of the monster under my bed. He gave me a forty-five!"
HINES. “That’s terrible! …a .45 has way too much kick for a nine-year-old.”

Yeah, there's a scene where someone gives a little tiny female a high caliber one-shot gun designed for concealment. I was sitting there thinking "Isn't that thing going to break her arm?"

Ha! I had the same reaction.

Perhaps I am desensitized from years of watching superheroes endanger their wards in wildly bizarre ways, but I think Sam doesn't know how good he had it.

I mean, he could've been raised by Batman. Or Oliver Queen.

Just so you know, earlier today I glimpsed a plot bunny that involved Dean Winchester, Roy Harper, and Wesley Wyndham-Price hanging out on the same internet gun forum.

(I flung that bunny far away, because I don't have time to write.)

Oh, and they would end up in the same forum, too, by dint of sheer weirdness.

And is probably effective for some things, but not so great against imaginary under-the-bed-monsters. ;)

It's awesome against imaginary under-the-bed-monsters. Pop a couple rounds in the direction of the floorboards, and I guarantee a complete absence of under-the-bed-monsters. (And of downstairs neighbors. But probably not of legal complications...)
