My Typical (Week)Day:
0450 alarm goes off
0455 get out of bed
0500 eat luna bar, drink 24oz water
0505 brush teeth
0510 get dressed
0515 leave for
work. Note that all ambulation on foot is accompanied by music or podcasts played on my iPhone 3GS.
0540 arrive work, drop off items (lunch, other things that don't need to come to the pool) and pick up large towel
0550 leave W98 for
pool0600 arrive pool (aka
Al '51 and Barrie Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center), known to those on campus as "The Z Center"
0610 in the water
0735 (no later than) out of the water, into the shower, dry & dress
0750 out the door & back to work
0800 arrive at work
0810 eat breakfast, read Boston Globe on web. Drink 32oz of water to make up for what I sweated off during swimming.
0810 - 1145 myriad of meetings or "just" project time. Catching up with coworkers. Answering help questions that come in by phone or email.
1145 - 1220 lunchtime, almost always at my desk. Read
The Guardian online.
1230 - 1300 self-selected social time, where I catch up with friends in the building
1300 - 1700 I might have no meetings or I might have three. Mid-afternoon I make sure to snack to keep my energy up.
1655 - 1720 leave work. I leave at 1655 on Wednesdays (have yoga, need to eat before then), but as late as 1720 on other days. Oh, except Fridays where I leave no later than 1530
1600 Fridays only: sleep at home for an hour
17?? - 1800(ish) dinner
1800(ish): errands (e.g. library, grocery shopping), yoga (Wednesdays), pedestrian committee (monthly on Thursdays), trying to stay awake (Fridays)
It's very rare that I'm not home by 1900 (yoga days and pedestrian committee days notwithstanding)
1900 - 2030 TV and/or crosswords and/or read. Talk to parents and/or friends.
2030 - 2045 night snack, prepare for following day (pack clothes for pool, get lunch ready, etc)
2045 - dental care
2050 - more downtime
2140 - bedtime!
2210 - Zzzzz (very rare I haven't turned the light off)
