Spring break was good. SXSW was great. I met a ton of cool people and saw some entrancing concerts like Bloc Party, The Futureheads, Kasabian, and The Doves. I worked in the promotional materials booth most of the time - I would look at the people as they were walking in and try to guess if they were in a band, press people, or maybe music lovers, then their nametag identified them as they came closer. I saw a lot of bands walk in with members who looked and sounded just like The Beets from "Doug", anyone remember them? At one point, I was pretty sure that Frank Zappa had walked into the room and my friend whispered out loud "Holy crap it's Frank Zappa!" I excitedly texted a few people and then later when I checked my voicemail, Matter of Pat left me a message that went, "Hey Kristin...Frank Zappa, Born December 21, 1940, DIED December 4, 1994 in California, of prostate." Hahaha possibly the best message that I've ever gotten. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't really Frank. The Austin Music Awards were fun, here are a few pictures of us getting ready and a few of the performers and musicians that were there.

Now that spring break is over, I'm going on a much needed visit home this weekend. I'm exhausted but happy. Jane, are you still in Houston on your spring break?? We need to hang out over some Chez Beignets, like whoa.
