Creator's Summary: Draco owns a café in the city. Harry's a MP who comes in every morning, newspapers in one hand, BlackBerry in the other, and orders a triple espresso macchiato.
Contributor's Comments: I'm not a big fan of non-magicals - most of the time, if you change the character names, say from Harry and Draco to John and Steve, you can't recognize them as HP anymore.
But when this story posted at the Ownfic fest, I shuddered a little and dove in, having promised myself I'd read every entry. It had me from the first line and never let me go. The characterization is utterly perfect, absolutely fantastic - something I aspire to in my own work. And the plot is marvelous, meticulously researched. But what I really remember is what I felt reading it. Ultimately, that was deeply satisfied.
This is too brilliant a story to pass up, even if it's a pairing you don't read or a genre you turn your nose up at.
