He feels a part of the community and Seamus basks in that, absorbs it to ease the pain of loss and loneliness.
What a lovely line about Seamus, and the bits about cutting his ties with a knife's edge, I loved it.
As he heads to bed and a book, he calls out, "Good night, Dean. See you in the morning." I wondered if that's who he was talking to or not. I so like that.
How different Neville sees the land when he arrives cracked me up.
There's no answer but that doesn't deter Neville. If he can deal with recalcitrant First Years trying to get out of doing their homework, he can deal with one Seamus Finnigan.
So much ♥ for Nev.
And now I want to know what the heck happened to make Seamus so mad. OH. So much anger in poor Seamus.
"Just because you're missing Dean is no reason to kiss me," Neville responded.
Oh, what a line right there, with Dean still alive and all.
Sodding stupid Neville for not even casting a drying charm or something as he stood in the rain waiting for Seamus to open the door.
LOL about Neville and how he manages to get Seamus to let him in.
He wouldn't have had to stand alone as Dean disappeared into the cold unfeeling earth, the wind whistling through the trees and singing a mournful song while the sun shone and reflected off the lake.
There's such beauty in all this and how much Seamus hurts.
What is it about kissing in the rain, or getting caught out in the rain that is so lovely for fic. That whole scene is beautiful. Seamus talking to Dean about Neville hurts to read.
For a moment, I thought Neville stayed and didn't leave. But Seamus talking to Dean after he left killed me. I really like how Neville hears Dean's voice as well.
The windchimes throughout the fic are a nice touch as well.
I don't know what I did to deserve such a lovely story, but thank you.

I'm so very glad that I got to read a "blow by blow" of your reactions because that is exactly what I was going for. I really wanted people to think that Dean was still alive though I sort of warned for it.
To me, the windchimes were sort of Dean's way of answering Seamus or at least talking to him. I wanted to echo that feeling that Dean really was with them and approved and the windchimes were my way of doing it. This was sort of my way of doing the threesome you requested. Even though Dean is dead, he's still there in the relationship and, thus, three of them there.
Neville can be quite sneaky, can't he? I love Neville so much and I jumped at the chance to write him.
The kiss in the rain scene is probably my favourite. I loved that you requested it. It's something that I find unbearably romantic even in the cheesiest soppiest movies.
You deserved a lovely story because of being you, of course. I've enjoyed your stories and I couldn't resist attempting to return the favour.
Thank you so much for enjoying this!

I love rare-pairs in general, and I really love minor characters. You absolutely brought them to life in this and it was such a joy to read.
I wondered about the windchimes, thank you for clarifying that. :)

Very true, but it's sooo great.
Thank you again!
