Harry ran his hands through his hair in exactly the same way his son had done moments before. He leant back in his chair and studied the ceiling.

'Sit down Albus' he said, motioning to the other high-backed leather chair in the room, not looking away from the ceiling.

'People have been talking about that sort of question for years...' Harry leant forward in his chair and looked at his son as if through new eyes. 'And everyone has their own opinions as to whether it is a good idea or not. When I was your age I had it explained to me that Muggles would want all sorts of magical help from wizards, so the Wizarding world was kept secret. I never thought anything more about it... not until I was a lot older. However, I'm going to be honest with you, there is more to it than that. It's more about whether mixing Muggles and wizards would even be possible than whether it is a good idea or not. Bringing Muggles and wizards together would mean having to explain how wizarding society had kept itself secret all these years. It would be difficult to earn the trust of people who'd had their minds constantly wiped for years. And I don't think the separation is what causes the 'we're better than Muggles' thinking. Some people just like to think that they are better than others and will use whatever reason they can to prove this. It happens within Wizarding and Muggle society as well, not just between them. You don't think your any better than the lads you met today or your friend Faye do you?' Harry leant back in his chair once more.

Al sunk back into the chair, lsiening intently as Harry spoke. In answer to his dad's last question, Al shook his head vigorously, his hair slapping against the back of the chair. "No, course not. I mean... it's all daft, isn't it? That stuff about blood purity. We're all just people."
A troubled expression passed over Al's face before he continued. "But... it's different with muggles. I don't think that wizards are better people than muggles, but... We can do things that they can't. I guess everyone can do things that other people can't. Even if a muggle wanted to, though, they couldn't learn to be a wizard. I can't play the trumpet, but I could learn to if I wanted, right? It just doesn't seem fair."
