Sybil sat on the wall and watched the train pull into the station. Curled up in a furry ball beside her, her cat slept, unconcerned about the world around it. It had been repainted recently -completely overhauled, in fact, to commemorate the anniversary of Voldemort's downfall - and was a vibrant shade of red, with white smoke puffing out of the spotlessly clean chimney. Still, it wasn't THAT interesting. Sybil decided to draw rainbow colours coming out of the chimney, with nargles peering out from the hedge behind it.

What was far more interesting were the black-robed students climbing into the carriages through the doors, cages, wands and books in hand, laughing and talking and trying to push each other in front of the train. She knew some of the students - they were older children from the village, the ones her mother allowed her to play with as long as they didn't get her into too much trouble. I'll be able to go with them soon, thought Sybil. Her heart felt full to the brim with eager anticipation.

She wasn't too keen on the idea of studying - she didn't like being cooped up in small spaces or being ordered to do things - but she really wanted to explore the castle. Her mother said there were ghosts in there. She had yet to meet a ghost. She thought she saw the ghost of the cat once but that was impossible - the cat was alive again, wasn't it? She reached over to tickle the cat under the ear. It purred and rolled over. With her other hand, she waved at the train as it pulled out of the station.
