Helping out with the planning of the reunion does not require you to be present at the reunion. The minimal requirement is to simply weigh in on ideas presented or present your own.

Heavier participation in the reunion will be requested during the course of the preparations, but it will be entirely up to you whether to volunteer for that sort of commitment.
