About:

hprare_cliche Valentine’s Fest is a low-maintenance fest to celebrate the rare!pair in love! It can be fluffy, angsty or dark!

We accept fic, art, videos, fanmixes, crafts, podfic, filk, etc. If it's a fanwork celebrating a cliché then we likely want it. The only caveat is that it cannot be for one of the banned pairings.

Timeline:

Prompting - 1 November - 10 November
Claiming - 15 November
Submissions Due - 20 January
Posting - 1 February - 15 February
Reveals - 20 February

Rules:
  • Posting will be anonymous.  All fics are due to: hprarecliche @ gmail . com
  • Authors/Artists are allowed to pick a prompt from the prompt list or can come up with their own prompt.
You will choose:
1. Cliché/Trope
2. Pairing/Characters (as long as they're not on the banned pairing list).  If a prompt is picked from the prompt list, you are allowed to change the pairing, however, it cannot be something from the banned list.
  • All genres and ratings are welcome in this fest! This includes but is not limited to angst, flangst, fluff, hurt/comfort, romance, drama, humour, etc. If you can write/draw/etc it, we want it!
  • All stories/art submitted must be newly created for this fest.
  • Please be aware of laws in your country regarding viewing adult content; the mods are not responsible for non-compliance with your own local laws.
  • All characters in sexual situations must be at or above 16 years old per the age of consent in the UK.
  • You work cannot be focused on a banned pairing. A banned pairing is okay as a side pairing only. Ex. You can have Drarry in your fic about Ron/Pansy, but Drarry can't be the focus. Ron/Pansy must be the focus and Drarry are simply their friends who also happen to be together.
  • Fics must be in English.
  • There is no word count minimum or maximum.
  • For podfic, filk, fanmixes or videos, please provide a streaming option. Examples of streaming sites: youtube.com, vocaroo.com, soundcloud.com, etc.
  • For crafts, please take pictures of your creation and write up some information on your process. Take a look @ I Made A Thing on dreamwidth for inspiration on how to structure your post.
  • You may use as many clichés as you like for inspiration for your work.
  • You are more than welcome to submit multiple works.  After you’re done with one, claim another!
  • Stories must be beta read! If you do not already have a beta reader, you can try hp_betas or hp_betas_wanted. If you still have trouble finding one through these channels, please contact the mods. Mods reserve the right to ask you to modify your story if we find it is not beta read.
  • Please include all appropriate html tags in the body of your story. Don't know what html tags are? Go check out phoenixacid's HTML Guide.
  • Please follow AO3 rating guidelines for this fest, i.e. General Audiences (G & PG), Teen & Up Audiences (PG-13), Mature (R, non-graphic adult themes [sex, violence, etc.]), Explicit (NC-17, graphic violence, sex, etc.)
  • If you need to drop out because you don't believe you can get your submission finished on time, please let us know!
