So, yes I made it to Syria. The guy at the airport did everything; we didn't have to que - so very very easy =)
Syria is a wonderful country. We went from a sprawling city, to an amazing rocky desert; with mountains so high, then an Oasis and even to beautiful country side of green with red soil.
It is amazing how safe I felt. It could have been a group thing, but all locals were friendly, and even more friendly when they found out that none of us were American!
We had an awesome driver Jarwa; he showed us around and took us off the beaten track. It was amazing when he tooks us to a church; and he (who is a muslim) was welcomed so friendly by the christans. They seem to have gotten over the religious scizim; and embraced each other. Muslims are free to pray in churches and vise verser.
I'll upload some photos at some point; and shows you all. I have long hair now, down to my shoulders!
