Showers: Rain and Bridal

Well, it has finally come! The sun has paid a visit to B/CS AND Brandy is coming home (if only for a couple of days). Both bring me much excitement. There is some sort of energy in the air today. For example, I don't formally take attendance for my classes here at Texas A&M, yet everyone in my undergraduate class was here at 8:35 am. Actually, all but two were 10 minutes early. Considering that Thursday night is the major undergraduate go-out night, I was pleased. And as a bonus, they were all participating. I've been really impressed with all of my students this semester...I'm certainly thankful for such a pleasant experience thus far. I think A&M students/graduates are grossly under estimated. I'm going to do my part to challenge the myth that they are all one-track minded, far-right, racist cowboys. I just don't see the evidence (and I've been exposed to many students in the past 4 years). Of course, my observations could actually be tested empirically --but who wants to embark on that project?? Not me. For now, I'll stick with general observation. Also, I'm excited about seeing Brandy tonight. The number of things that I have to do between now and 1:30am when I see her are...well...let's just say I probably should not be spending time updating my LJ. But, we all know how easily priorities can get confused. Hope everyone likes my picture of Ava, my baby. Well, she's not really my baby anymore (she is over a year old and quite large). I take that back -- she will always be my baby! (I'm started to sound so stupid here). Ava is my (and Thomas', of course) beautiful German Shephard. She is so laid back and relaxed. I love that about her! Right now, she is playing with her friend, Lucky (belongs to Dunia), and her sister Noel (black lab). They are probably laying out in the sun. I wish I was.
