Title: Don't Let It End

Author’s Notes: A double drabble in honor of the last day...let's say it's for the themes "fear" and "nervous" and "last" and probably a couple of others. And I suppose the title is a request to all of you... :)
She held the book cautiously, as if it were a dangerous magical object.
“Aren’t you going to open it?” he asked gently.
Ginny didn’t move or speak for a moment. “I’m afraid,” she said finally.
“Why?”
She looked up at him as if he were daft.
“Because this is the end,” she said seriously. “The end of our story. What if....” Ginny couldn’t bring herself to utter the words. The thought of his death was too horrible to contemplate.
Harry removed the book from her grasp and set it aside. Then he took her face between his hands and gave her a long, sweet kiss that flooded her insides with warmth. When he pulled away, he enveloped her hands in his.
“Ginny, it doesn’t matter what’s in that book,” he said indicating the thick volume. “They won’t let it end.”
Relief and hope crossed Ginny’s face. “You’re right, of course.”
She wrapped her arms around his waist. What was important was that they were together now, for this moment. They embraced each other as the anticipation of two years rekindled, burning fiercely until it overshadowed their lingering fears.
They settled onto the sofa and began to read their story together.
