Summary: The shade was best late in the day.
Even though there were plenty of trees on the grounds of Hogwarts, they didn't provide much shade during the hottest part of the day.
But, in the evening, when shadows of the trees, become longer, twisting and turning in a different direction facing the astronomy tower, there was a lot to choose from.
But, Astoria had her favorite tree to sit under, a moderately sized oak tree, that had low hanging branches.
That was where she chose to sit and do homework and read before it become too dark and lingering students like her were called in.
It was perfect.
