A gasp of shock permeated the hushed room as the sorting hat shouted out its fateful answer. It was no secret within the room exactly who the dark haired boy was who’d just been sorted amidst a flurry of secretive glances and barely contained whispers. For this particular boy to sort into Slytherin was unfathomable. The lad crept slowly past the stares toward a sea of green and silver, his messy mop of hair hiding his matching green eyes. The confused whispers continued throughout the room even as the next first year took her place upon the stool.
How had the son of the greatest wizarding hero of all time ended up sorted into the noble house of Salazar Slytherin? This very question had Scorpius Malfoy secretly pondering. He watched the seemingly shy boy take a seat amongst his fellow Slytherins. Scorpius knew this news would shock both his parents when they received his owl come morning. This was something even he had never dreamed possible. Not even after all the hours he’d spent pining over his chocolate frog cards. Scorpius found it hard to believe he’d be sharing commons with the son of the famous wizard Harry James Potter…
