Edward drank in the headiness of Bella Swan’s scent upon his nostrils. Her heartbeat pounded loudly in his ears, a tormenting song that tore at his heart. His lips captured hers with tentative trepidation. He never wished to harm his Bella yet as humanly fragile as she was, it was still a grave concern of his.
With a gentle ease Edward let his tongue probe her mouth, tasting the essence of her breath upon his taste buds. The sensuality of the kiss threatened to overwhelm his keen vampire senses and he tried valiantly to pull back slightly from her embrace. Insistently Bella pressed herself further into him and Edward could feel his own needs beginning to rage uncontrollably. His lustful desire and physical need for both Bella’s blood and body were undeniable. As he eagerly deepened the kiss, he felt all his resolution falling to the wayside and it frightened him.
With lightening speed, he broke away from the girl who unintentionally teased and taunted him without mercy. He looked into her bright shining eyes that were now mirroring his own carnal needs. Cautiously he pulled her back into his arms to endure another agonizingly beautiful kiss. Yes, Bella was a trying temptation, but she was a temptation that Edward willingly endured over and over again. Because Edward had already learned the hard way that he couldn’t live without his beloved Bella by his side.
